Chris and Kate
Chris Carless and Kate Travers took over the running of Sable Lodge in February 2012 after working in London for some of the top event companies for a number of years. Both share a passion for good food, exceptional hospitality and the beauty of African bush.
Highly accomplished chefs, Chris and Kate have done several stints working in the French Alps running exclusive ski lodges – a bit of a temperature change from Zimbabwe! Kate also spent time travelling Europe on the Formula 1 circuit catering for the Ferrari team at the Grand Prix’s. Their final destination before returning to Zimbabwe was Sydney, where Chris opened a “Gastro” Pub, running the kitchen with Kate and receiving great reviews. Luckily for Imire the draw of African skies was too great and they returned to run Sable Lodge.
Both Chris and Kate are highly experienced chefs. Their aim at Sable Lodge is to provide healthy and delicious meals using home grown organic produce as far as possible.
